-18×24in- Archival Watercolor Paper with Cyanotype Chemistry
-Highly detailed original artwork
-Features an oval design with feather specimens carefully arranged and exposed to sunlight.
-Cyanotypes use UV sensitive chemicals to create image negatives on the surface. The solution is washed off after exposure, leaving behind the areas that reacted with the sunlight.
Shipping: Small prints will be mailed in a rigid flat mailer. If damage occurs in transit, the artist will request photos of the damage to the artwork and the packaging, and then once evidence of damage is provided the artist will mail out a replacement print free of charge. Large prints will be rolled and mailed in a triangle mailer. Upon receipt, the customer should carefully unroll the paper face down onto a clean flat surface and place a large book or cookie sheet on the back of the artwork. The art will flatten again and be ready to frame after a few hours of being unrolled under pressure.
Framing: This piece comes un-framed. For longest lasting results, I recommend framing it with UV frame glass and a mat board to keep the art from touching the glass. Professional framing is recommended for best care.
Caring for your art: I recommend framing the artwork as soon as possible once it is unrolled to protect it. UV rays can fade artwork over time, so I recommend hanging it out of direct sunlight in a frame with UV protective glass. I recommend using wall anchors to safely secure it to the wall. Do not hang in humid environments such as bathrooms or over a stove as the humidity can cause the paper to buckle. Cyanotype artwork is an archival method of art making, so with proper care the piece can last generations.
Return Policy: Returns are accepted within 30 days of customer receiving the artwork (delivery date if shipped). Return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer and refund will be issued once it arrives back to the artist.
-This is an original, handmade piece of art, so it will have slightly wavy edges from the washing process. There may be specks of white printed into the design, crooked flowers, splatter around the outside edges, and general imperfections. The photos represent accurate depictions of the artwork’s condition. All of these little imperfections work together to make an interesting and very human-made composition. If you have a question or concern about the condition of an original cyanotype upon receiving it, just send photos and email the artist to determine next steps.
